Medley Mix-up offered an extremely rare opportunity to the public, by offering them the chance to participate in dressing Southampton’s most famous landmark - The Bargate. Volunteers attended free workshops led by a professional artist to create a display that will dressed up The Bargate throughout Open Weekend. The display was entirely made out of recycled materials from Southampton Scrapstore and demonstrated a great mix of various cultures to celebrate the Cultural Olympiad.

The project was led Sana Rashid a student from the University of Southampton and this project really worked at involving young people with the Cultural Olympiad.  The work of the University during Open Weekend has played a key part in helping to develop as Southampton as a city of art and culture.
