Latin American nations to train at University of Surrey's Sports Park ahead of London 2012
16 July 2012
Ecuador and Costa Rica are the latest two countries to sign up to train at Surrey Sports Park ahead of their participation in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Triathletes from the Central and South American nations will train at the University of Surrey-owned venue from the end of July in preparation for their events on 4th (women’s) and 7th (men’s) August.
The camps will include Costa Rican athlete Leonardo Chacon, who took silver and bronze in the 2010 Central American Caribbean Games, and Elizabeth Bravo from Ecuador who achieved the same standings but in the 2010 South American Games.
The South Americans will be joining a host of Olympic and Paralympic teams for training camps including Team GB, USA, Argentina, Antigua & Barbuda, Nigeria, Phillipines and Singapore among others.
This takes the total number of nations using Surrey Sports Park for pre-Games training camps to 16, including USA who will bring their own triathletes to train at Surrey Sports Park.
