Weymouth's London 2012 student ambassadors blog from Beijing
30 April 2010
Weymouth College’s Olympic and Paralympic student ambassadors will be blogging about their experiences during a once-in-a-lifetime trip to China to visit the sites which, and people who, hosted the 2008 Games.
The six ambassadors are visiting Beijing and Qingdao, the location of the 2008 Games' sailing events, to meet people who have experienced hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in their home town.
Before their trip, the ambassadors have been visiting secondary schools in Weymouth and Portland to determine students' views of the 2012 Games and gather questions to take to students in China.
Among the top questions that people wanted to ask students in China were; 'how did the 2008 Games change your view of the world?' and 'what was different for young people in your area after the 2008 Games?'
The ambassadors will be reporting back each day through their blog which can be found at: www.weymouth.ac.uk/ambassadors
The ambassadors can be seen wearing polo shirts specially designed by the winner of the Partnership 2012 Logo Competition, Georgina Goring from Wey Valley School. They will also be taking T-shirts as gifts for the students they meet in Qingdao which are printed with the motif designed by the winner of the Weymouth College 2012 Logo Competition, Catherine Batten.
