Volunteer for London Pride 2013

25 April 2013

London LGBT+ Community Pride is looking for friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic people to volunteer for the Pride parade in London on Saturday 29th June, a vibrant event to celebrate all sexualities and genders.

The parade, commencing at Baker Street and featuring floats and music, is always one of the most vibrant events in the London calendar.

The celebration will also include a stage and market stalls in Leicester Square, a street party in Soho, and festivities in Trafalgar Square.

It takes hundreds of volunteers to make Pride in London safe and successful, and this year's new organisers, London LGBT+ Community Pride, are looking for volunteers to help.

There are various roles available:

Stewards will be based along the parade route, in Trafalgar square and around Soho, providing information to members of the public and relaying information to the event liaison team.

Deputy Area Managers will run a sizeable part of the event on the day.

Resident and Business Liaison will be responsible for building strong relationships with the wide range of people and community groups involved with the event.

There will be two volunteer shifts available on the day itself, but most volunteers will be needed from 9am-5.30pm. All volunteers will need to attend a training session before the day itself.

Volunteers will receive the following rewards from the event organisers:
• certificate of thanks
• an invitation to a thank you event
• souvenir T-shirt to wear while volunteering, to keep after the event

Please note that travel expenses will not be covered.

To apply sign up and complete the online registration form by Tuesday 30th April.
