Sign up to the Apps for Good programme

1 March 2013

Applications are open for UK schools and colleges to join the innovative education programme Apps for Good - sign up today and join a growing community of tech entrepreneurs.

Apps for Good is a not-for-profit creative learning programme that offers people the chance to learn about and create their own mobile and Facebook apps.

Students work together to solve problems using mobile and web apps, as well as understand the full software development process.

The course is designed to boost skills in public speaking, teamwork, project management, critical and analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

Apps for Good COO Debbie Forster said that the programme is preparing to accept up to five times as many schools or colleges for the 2013/14 academic year.

She adds: “More schools and colleges are seeking compelling courses to re-motivate students in ICT and computing, and our innovative approach has had excellent uptake across the country. With our new online system we can now work with even more schools and colleges across the UK.

“Apps for Good courses bring technology to life — students work hard and have fun while learning, and teachers get support from a thriving community of peers, mentors, technologists and companies.”

Applications are open until the 30th May and you can sign up here.

The Apps for Good programme is free for schools and colleges to deliver. All resources, online content and support comes free of charge and one staff member from each registered college is able to attend an Apps for Good training day. Should additional teachers from the same college wish to attend; a fee would be charged.
