Talent Search Paralympics Ireland

Fresh from the amazing success of London 2012 Games, Paralympics Ireland are set to conduct a talent search day to find new stars to represent Ireland at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The talent search, supported by Cadbury, will run from 10.30-16.30 at the Sports Centre as it looks to encourage people with a physical disability to get involved in sport.

The search has been backed by Mark Rohan, who claimed two golds for Ireland at this summer's Paralympic Games in the H1 time trial and road race.

"It's great to think that the team's success in London will inspire others with a disability to try Paralympic sport," he said.

"If you'd like to get involved and possibly compete, we'd love to see you at UCD."

Rohan's Paralympics Ireland teammate Catherine Walsh, who won a silver and a bronze in cycling at London 2012 in the individual pursuit and time trial respectively, has also given her backing to the search.

"As an athlete who has competed at six Paralympic Games, it's fantastic that we're already on the lookout for future talent," said Walsh, who is a Cadbury Athlete Ambassador.

The talent search day will see Irish athletes from the London 2012 Paralympic in attendance while 18 Paralympic sports will be exhibited in various demonstrations alongside the trials for the participants.

If you have a physical disability or visual impairment and are keen to attend, you can register free here.
