The University of East London can expect to host the most successful Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps as he prepares for London 2012 after agreeing a training camp deal with Team USA.

The University of Bath has formally signed a wide-ranging reciprocal sports and academic agreement with Malaysia which includes a London 2012 Pre Games Training Camp deal.

Colleges, universities and students are being invited to get involved with Open Weekend, the annual UK-wide celebration counting down to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which this year takes place from 23 to 25 July.

Students from London 2012’s five host borough’s colleges recently took part in a highly successful Legacy Champions Day which involved a trip to the Olympic Park and a chance to discuss how the Games will shape the future of East London.
